Found out the requirements for us to be a Guild @ the event. (I'm saying we wait for next year)

- Non-profit Organization Paper-Work (I think this is in the Chapter Contract, if not we need to find out how)

- We can explain what our "guild" will bring to the event.

- Photos; Lots of Photos (Keep it up Konradr!!!)

- There are no fees , just some-what limited spacing.

Non-Mandatory Requirements: WAR CAMP

Good work Knubbs. Yeah, Dagorhir is not a non-profit or profit organization. As far as I can tell, its not incorporated at all. Belegarth might be, but Dag is not. I would say if that's a requirement, we're probably screwed. The rest is doable.

I am all the way in wyoming, and inside of denver is one onf the biggest ren fairs I have ever scene, I know the SCA is going to be there, I have seen one shop sell Dag weapons, but I have never seen Dag battles

I was looking @ the chapter contract and it states that dagorhir is a NPO under the state of Maryland. Wonder if thats good enough.

The 'aratari(?)' are the founding fathers of Dagorhir, maybe we should fire them off an email and ask? I think they are in DC.

Trying to keep this alive in the thread for multiple reasons.

First this same thread can continue to work for our Warcamp preperations.

Im designing out some buildings on paper so we can decide what we want to do for warcamp and fairs.

I've been doing the same Knubbs, a tower that can be used for a gate to an encampment or on the battlefield. However, I'm not a great engineer. I keep trying to work grandiose idea's down to something portable, jeep top, and affordable. We'll have to throw our designs up on the photobucket so we can check 'em out.

I'm thinking lots of fake big strong foam pieces cut and painted to look like stone work.

cut into it a bit and make it look worn. Would look really sweet.

If there is group camping then you could make an event out of it. I'm sure a lot of people from AZ and LA would come up for a camp out like that. I know I'd try my damest to be there

I was thinking a 4 X 4 frame with 4 X 8 pannel's for the skin. They make panneling that looks like brick or stone. I was thinking of using a light red wash to make it look like our native sandstone. A gate of two wooden doors with those long black gate hinges would look medieval, a crennalated top with a solid upper floor reached by ladder that archers could use, and a sign over the gate that read "Barad'dun". The wood to be broken down into 4 wall frames, upper floor and four 4 X 8 panel's attached by carriage bolts and nuts.

Wooden walls, also of panneling or a wooden frame with Palings or cloth stretched over them could be attached to the tower to form and encampment.

Finally reading the DGBA chapter contract that Knubbs posted a link too I see that yes, Dagorhir is run as a national non-profit organization. It also states that local chapters my seek their own individual governmental recognition as a non-profit organization in your own locality. I don't what that would entail here but probably would begin a search with either the Nevada state website and see where it leads.

It specifically states that any monies we bring in for any events must be spent solely for the chapter's benefit. Loaner weapons, advertising, etc.

We had mentioned taking up donations for the realm at practices, like $2.00 a person or whatever a person wants or can afford to give. I think if we did that we would need a receipt book and a cash box that maybe we could put an additional lock on so that two people would be entrusted with the two keys that would open it.

I think our chapter should be solely donation based.

We should have a receipt book and have the chapter leader and one other manage the money.


But people should know that the money donated will go forth into the chapter supplies like banners, weapons, tabards... etc..etc...
