Bandshoppe pole equivalent, free shipping, no min. order.

Templar mentioned a company on the web selling 8 foot bandshoppe poles with free shipping. I checked into it. On the Dag forum, 'Alric' posted about a site called "Music123" selling band equipment. They sell black, fiberglass flagpoles. They offer free shipping with no minimum order. The shipping is ground shipping.

So Alric ordered two and eventually they got to him, so he gives the company an A for that. He checked the pole carefully. It is not a bandshoppe pole, is just a slightly bit thinner than bandshoppe, but he felt it was definately sturdy enough. Made it into a spear and has not had any issues with it.

Sure enough, the 8' is in stock and is $12.95 with free ground shipping. I checked my allowance and found I had $14 left to my surprise, so I ordered one of these 8 footers. I'll let you know when it comes in.

For bandshoppe poles 7 feet or less, go to our local source, the "American Band warehouse" posted in another topic here in the Armoury. But if you want an 8 footer, here ya go!

For a 10 footer, you'll need two 5 footers, and the K'urn plan for a 'breakdown' spear.

The pole has been shipped. Its being shipped from Kansas via UPS ground. The tracking info says:

Yeah! The pole came in today at noon! It was free shipping, came quick. It is 8' and black fiberglass. It has a shiny sheen like bandshoppe but is definately not bandshoppe. It is a lighter pole. It feels almost like plastic, however, does not flex when I shake it hard. I'm sure its fiberglass, just not as thick a fiberglass as bandshoppe. I will make a min head spear and we shall test it on the field.

So far it looks very promising as a spear. I don't know if I would make a red out of it, but folks on the dag forum have bought 6 footers to make reds with.
