Getting lost because the name "River Road" was not in Google's vocabulary.
Loosing the lights on the Jeep when driving down the darkest, dirt road far out in the boonies.
Lucky to see a truck relocating the ATD's sign after their move, and following the truck along on a smaller, ruttier road than the one I came in on.
That small ATD sign painted black!
Being the first from Barad'Dun when usually I'm last. Setting up camp and getting the fire started which became the main campfire for Barad'Dun as everyone, after getting lost as well, eventually found their way to us.
Strider being 15 minutes behind us, then showing up at camp 3 hours later. I had a few minutes of cell service which helped me get a hold of Isk to get the right directions. When I tried to relay that info to Strider, my service was gone before I could tell him the crucial bit, "River Road, turn at River Road". Later we gave Libra of ATD, his and Taco's phone number to call them and guide them in (I had no service in the area with my phone). At the time we didn't realize ATD was in the middle of a major relocation of the Camp. Rangers had told them to move cuz the camp was spookin' the cattle at the reservoir. Kudos to those guys for moving everything, castles, and portapotties.
Trying to find some flat ground and dig out the big rocks for a tent site.
Tripping in the big holes where people pulled out big rocks.
The Barad'Dun flag being hoisted by Smithy and flapping mightily in the cold breeze. No one else flew banners, other than ATD at the Troll point. Smithy put up the Realm banner, and I and Taco put up our unit banners on the sides of our vehicles.
The night fighting under the lights was fun. Thanks Loptr for the lights.
The beautiful shot Loptr got me with his 8 foot glaive. We were lined up in two lines within arm's reach. I to the right of lopter with my 7 foot spear. I eyed Lopter, he eyed me. The guy next to me had a buckler and got close to me, putting his shield between me and loptr. So I prepared to strike at the feet or sides of someone to my front or left. At the call of 'lay on' WHAP! One strike by Lopter, right under the man's buckler and into my gut!
Sasquatch laying out the Tent he just bougth only to realize its a "FRIGGIN' BATTING CAGE!!!" Priceless and Hilarious or Pricarious!!!
Thx Smithy, for having room for Your Narbu. The same Sasquatch also lost his Wallet and Lucky for him, We found it on top of our Jeep just before we left the next evening.
Charging towards the castle gate during one of those crazy 'Thermopylae battles against hordes of Archers, and getting shot in the eye as I approached the line! I was wearing a helmet. Arrows don't pierce helmet's, but they can if they hit you in the friggin' eye!
First Thermoplyae battle, I scrounged up a bunch of Javelin's, since they were the only way to kill the archer's on the walls, and I killed three of them in a row! I love Javies.
Me and Isk having a tug of war over a Javilin. Sorry Isk, I didn't realize it was your personal Jav, I thought you acknowledging my expertise with the jav and didn't want me to kill you with it. Then I realized it was your personal weapon and knew I shouldn't use it without your permission. (But I still think you knew I'd kill ya withit)
Thermoplyae battle where Isk lost and arm so had so sit on his butt and shoot the bow with his feet.
Those Greek dudes from Fugl brenna. Nice Unit look, and seemed like cool dudes. We'll have to make the trip down there and fight with you guys sometime.
Pizza Quesidillas!!
Cold rain!
Mud, lots of it, sticking to the boots in a 2 inch thick layer.
Surviving 3, count them, 3 left/right shots from Geryn of the Uruk Hai! I had spear and my big round back shield. He came in to my front. He threw a shot to the left, hit back shield, shot to the right, blocked with my spear shaft held up, shot to the left, back shield, shot to the right, spear block, shot to the left, back shield, shot to the right, spear block again. That's it I thought, Dude is too fast, I survived three, now I'm dead (no side arm) but he ran off to kill someone else and left me standing there dazed and confused. 'What? I'm alive still' WHACK! Someone killed from behind, spear side.
Dustin' washing his hands with my Lamp Oil, thinking it was water! Glad he didn't try to dry them over the fire!!!
The drive home, we didn't make it before dark and I had problems with the Jeep's lights again. Luckily, no cops stopped me and gave me a ticket even when I missed my turn off and had to do a long stupid turnaround downtown to get back on the freeway! The Luck of barad'Dun was with me that night.
