are those core less foam/fabric sturdy boogie boards/wake boards, alright to make a shield out of? I was wondering if I still need to put some sort of padding on them since they have no core etc.,...cause I recently found 40" by 26" rectangle ones for about 20$ each?? was thinking of getting one late friday if this were okay

I think they'd be acceptable. As long as it's not too rigid I think you will be fine. I know 2 people in our group who have made boogie shields.
