I never thought I'd start one of these threads but it might be fun.

You say to your coworkers (and boss) that you can't stay late for the overtime because you have a "meeting with your group." (O.K. that one sounds more like A.A.)

You describe what you do for fun and people think you're a mercenary.

You've promised yourself some sleep that night but when you finish that one last project and look out the window you see the sun rising.

You've had to peel a layer of DAP off your hands because you can't feel through the layer that's already there.

You make a redbull run at 3am to finish building by the time practice starts.

I started one of these before. x]


Every time you go shopping, you only end up buying stuff that "would make some nice garb."

You take a trip to Walmart just for some blue foam...

And come back with loads of trimming for garb too...

When it's your first time building a weapon you look for DAP at 3 or 4 different stores till you find it and no one in the stores can tell you where it is >.>...

you know you're obsessed with this sport when you have to take your fiance out of the toy isle cause of the nerf swords

Actually, I think that's just because he's a giant child.

You know you are obsessed when you go to look at the forum and your hand sticks to the mouse with all the glue/DAP you have been using...

When you mourn each missed practice and event... trying to plot your next 'supply' purchase without the rest of the household knowing...

When you just barely start and all you can think about is how to get bad ass garb and plan training during a summer school class that costs 500 bucks just to attent (not including 163 dollar text book)


When the rest of the week sucks but on friday night Im psyched for the next day

When you check your shift rota for the next 3 months and see how many practices you can make..

And get them to change your shifts to go to special events...

And everybody at work knows you are part of those crazy LARP people... So weird...

When you have an extra 20 dollars and you can't choose whether to spend it on material for dag or watch a movie at the theaters.
