Cleaning Up

Every practice there seems to be an issue with trash. We will be moving a trash can to the middle of our camp from now on to combat the problem, as having one within throwing distance of our bags will most likely help.

Weapon Checkers

We highly encourage all weapon checkers to watch and learn from the WOR weapon checkers. The goal is to have our checkers be able to check weapons on the national/event level, rather than only the local. Currently, a weapon that may pass at Barad’dun may not pass at an event and we want to weed that out.
We would also like for weapon checkers to be able to check out armor. There is not a lot of armor floating around our realm currently, but at events armor is everywhere. We need checkers to be just as fluent in armor as they are in weapons.

Forum Administration

It is the decision of the council that the current administrators will suffice. As long as posters follow the “be nice” rule we shouldn’t have any problems.

Recruitment

1. The best way to gather recruits is to continue fighting our butts off at Desert Breeze. While fighting, we need to give potential fighters the fancy new business cards Phoxly made up!
2. Phoxly is currently working on a cool demo video
3. Grek will stop being lazy and start making a few articles and backlinks so that our web site will appear at the top of Google searches for anyone looking for anything remotely related to our sport
4. Grek has a secret plan that wasn’t discussed at the meeting and it will be brought up in another topic
5. Remember: Events often lead to more people! So get out there and go to some events!

Realm Funds

1. Water
a. As you can tell from last Saturday, practices are now a lot more intense!
b. One weekend a month a unit will be responsible for bringing out the realm water jug and cups. $1 gives you ALL YOU CAN DRINK access to the jug. All profits made from this endeavor will go to the realm fund. Royal Army is first up with February 11th.
c. A donation box will be present at every practice. If you feel like making a donation, please do!
d. All money will go towards King’s Tourney and other realm affairs

2. Raffle
Taco wishes to hold a raffle to raise money for the realm! If anyone has a weapon, shield, or piece of armor they do not desire to keep anymore, they may donate it to this raffle. A raffle ticket is $1 and bidders may purchase as many as they desire to increase their chances of winning. Winners will receive their new piece of equipment and the money will go to the realm fund.

Realm Age Limit is 16

We receive a lot of attention from the younger crowd, and unfortunately we have to draw the line on age. All current players will be grandfathered in, of course, but the age restriction is now 16. The reasoning behind this is that there are fully grown men swinging very hard and we do not want any youngsters hurt. Secondly, there are a myriad of legal issues brought up by the youngsters.

Weapon Classes

We feel that required weapon classes are unnecessary and alienate new people who want to try out different weapons. Forcing someone to use only sword and shield until completing a weapon class detracts from their fun, especially if they bring out their own passing weapons. Reds will remain the exception to the rule, and a short safety lesson will be given by a veteran on its use. If there are any issues with headshots after that, they will be pulled aside and taken care of by the heralds.
However, we still strongly encourage the weapon classes as they promote learning and skill in the realm.

Arm Bands

Arm bands would be awesome at practice and events so that players can distinguish between friend and foe. Maybe this could be a project for the crafting guild? Very Happy

Realm Practice for Events

We need to get better as a realm, both individually and as a team. When we go to events, we want to trash people! To go about this, Konradr will be leading us through some formations and drills.

WAR OF RECKONING, February 25

a. WOR is coming up and everyone is encouraged to go! If you need a ride, don’t be lazy and find one. Get with your unit and ask around.
b. A weapons build for the event will be hosted on either:
Wednesday February 15th
Or
Thursday February 16th
The locations in debate are:
Phoxly’s house
Templar’s house
c. We will let you know when this issue is resolved.
d. If this is your first event: travel light. You do not need every single weapon or shield you own with you out at the field. Bring what you will realistically be using.
e. WOR has a reputation for being cold. Dress accordingly and expect rain or light snow.

Fool’s Raid, April

A. There are four locations being discussed
I. Gym
Kneepads will be encouraged
Heretic is currently checking out the price
II. Davis Park
Only issue at the moment is that there are no bathrooms
Konradr will be investigating the price of port-o-potties
III. Desert Breeze
We will have to reserve the football fields.
IV. Church
Heretic is investigating costs
As per the church’s rules, there will be no casting magic. Sorry guys lolol
B. Everyone is reminded to bring water.
C. We will need medical staff on hand. Our currently registered medical staff are Nightmare, Wolf, and Smithy.
D. We are investigating which permits will be needed, if any.
E. Fool’s Raid will not be a camping event. Sorry.
F. There will be no tournaments at Fool’s Raid.

TL;DR
Clean up after yourself. Learn how to weapon/armor check on the event level. There will be water for sale, raffles, and donations. Recruit people. Get ready for Fool’s Raid and War of Reckoning.

Kj posted on the black lion forums that she has fabric for arm bands. i as well have fabric i'll try to make a couple proto types with different colors and you can tell me which ones you like most i am happy with this. " I am ok with this" seems like you guys tackled a lot of stuff i like where this is going.

hey barrikaide have you thought of any official heralds for fool's raid because i would be honored to do it off and on. Assuming i will not be able to play, i will do it most of the time.

Sasquatch is in charge of heralds. Get with him when you can.

k i will do that just point the way to his cave and i will ask him. jk jk. ill just ask him the next time i see him. also i will herald as much as possible to prepare myself for events that barad'dun hosts, while fighting s mnuch as possible.

sorry taimer and i missed practice, he scratched his eyewith his contacts to the point of light infection so we couldnt make it out, I am more than wanting to be part of the crafting guild, especially with sewing, taimer might be interested in making weapons. I would be more than happy to help with the arm bands once we know the styles. the donation box and raffle are awsome ideas!! im so gonna get involved with that, need a sheild and sword lol. Anyways, everything here sounds great! have to admit barrikade (sp sorry, on phone) but i have to admit im sorry for my concerns. You seem to be doing very well If theres anything that lil jingles can do to help out in anyways (sewing, cooking, bbq, hosting, gophering, etc) That you need done, Im here to help ^_^

Arm Bands project has been started by the crafting guild! I will post more info on the guild later when I am out of work. Anyone who has an idea or project they want to pitch to the realm feel free to start a thread, and those who are up to the task/challenge can volunteer.

We aren't letting anymore kids that are under the age of 16 join, you and the other kids that are underage dont get included in this, you were here before we decided this so you guys get to stay, how old is your friend, 15?
