A few of my guys in the RPG Club have started leg-hunting, forcing others to fight from their knees. Personally, from my background and mindset I consider this cheap and want to discourage it. However, I realize from everything I've read that this is a legal way to fight in Dagorhir so I want to know if I'll be crippling my minions in future fighting if I encourage them to not take legs and stab people in the back when they're not looking?

They must learn to move their feet when they fight. A lot of noobs go for legs because they are easy; however, veterans will purposely bait their legs and then jump backwards when a noob swings at their legs. Backstabbing is always prevalent, so your fighters must learn to have battlefield awareness and not let themselves be flanked!

Also, there is no such thing as "cheap" in fighting or competitive games! If leg-hunting is their current metagame, then so be it. When a fighter becomes particularly skilled and learns how to dodge leg-hunting, he will redefine the metagame, and your fighters will have to adapt or lose. That is just how combat is and always will be!

The first fighter on the left is named Sasquatch. He uses a small shield, which gives him a lot of offensive options but leaves his legs open. In th

e first few seconds, you see him pump his legs backwards while shifting the top of his body forwards. This effectively moves his legs out of my range (I'm the guy on the right) while allowing him to swing at me.

Here's some more fighting that highlights leg-movement. There is a perfect dodge at :49 seconds

The dual-wielding guy also has good leg movement.
