I really like that armor style, only without the chain mail underneath, due me not having the money to afford a full blown set. I'd actually just be happy with some leather shoulder guards for a starter armor. Similar to this:

thats some cool lookin stuff but ive always liked japanese armour but ive become intimidated by finding this page http://www.sengokudaimyo.com/katchu/katchu.html and seeing just how much goes into makeing it OO like omg!!!!!!
