| My name is Sapeer(or Martos in Dag) I was just at your Saturday event for the first time today, May 1st. I was the one in shorts and a black top with red logo(yea I know I'll make sure my dress is appropriate next time =D). I really had a lot of fun out there, it was a lot more than what I was expecting. I appreciate you folks letting me use your equipment and teaching me the basics, as well. Hopefully, it wasn't too bothersome to teach a noob. =D I'm certainly coming back next week, and I'd love to get to know you guys better, as its hard to find people who share my interests. I had no idea this sort of thing was happening so close to where I live. Anyway, I bet you could care less about the noob's ramblings... lol. But I do have a some questions:
1. If two people land a killing blow on each other at the same time, are they both dead or is it more like a mulligan?
2. How do your event invitations work(like the Ragnarok)? Any and all can come, or a select group?
3. I learned today that you are not so much a LARP group. Despite that fact, I see a character creation forum. Is creating and developing a character's story optional then?
4. Did any of you notice anything I was doing wrong out there? If you noticed me at all, lol.
5. I was told today that getting hit in the hand(below the wrist) does not count. Does this hold true with arrows, which could potentially disarm people?
6. Now that I've been to my first get together, is there anything else I need to do other than showing up and working on equipment? Waiver was signed.
7. I was told there are groups/bands/guilds/clans/etc. I read you need 5 people to create a one. So two part question, is that true and if so what does it take to join a group(and what are the benefits exactly seeing as we split teams up anyway)? Simple request? A trial? An app?
8. Knee pads within the rules?
9ish. Maybe not really a question, but I was serious about actually getting to know you guys. So if I didn't rub you the wrong way, and you don't mind a noob for a friend. Let me know! =P
So yea, that's about all I can think of for now. If I don't talk to you sooner, I'll see you next Saturday. =D | |

| Nope didn't rub off on me in anyways, no worries:D
1.Depends, In my opinion, when hits are too hard to tell who hit first, I call a "simo" and most of the time both will take the hit. This is an honor game. Take your shots and talk if you question something.
2.Depends, lol. There are the bigger events which are open for anyone to come and one that are by invite. Usually, if its public knowledge, anyone can come. Either way, Dag/Bel people are nice enough that if you'd show up they would welcome you.
3.Character creation is optional, unless the unit requires it by some chance. To me, its really just something extra to think about.
4.Nope.
5.Hand on weapon, hand on shield, and feet on ground do not count. If a foot is off ground it counts and/or an empty hand counts also. You can not block arrows with anything other than a shield. If a person intentionally deflects a arrow with his hand or weapon he is often just considered dead. If it was unintentional, the arrow would strike as it was going through the weapon. So, yes, an arrow to the hand counts.
6. Garb.
7.There are Realms and there are units. Realms are a big area of units(usually by state) that people choose to label their units under. There are two current units within the Realm of Barad'Dun. The Royal Army of Barad'Dun and The Black Lions. Usually there are not more than one unit in a location, we just happen to fight with each other:D Talk to Surt for The Royal Army and Taco for The Black Lions. In my opinion, I would wait for a while a figure out where you would be comfortable. Both groups have good benefits:D
8.knee pads are fine under garb as long as they are not metal.
If you have any more questions you can download the PDF with the rules, I suggest doing this anyways. There are lots of rules when building weapons and many more rules that you aren't required to know just to play at the beginning. Such as armor and projectile rules, and even when its okay to grapple and shield bash.
Hope this helps:D | |

| Glad to have you in the realm Martos. Hopefully we will continue to see you in the coming weeks/months. Caretaker covered all of your questions better then I could have so I will leave it at that. To learn more about the people in Barad'dun I would suggest going over to the Real Life forum and reading up on what everyone likes to do outside of dag. We are becoming a very close knit group of friends and try to do things together outside of dag as well. ***WARNING - Shameless plug*** I'm planning an outing this friday to see Iron Man 2 which has also been posted in Real Life so head over there, check out the thread, and see if you can make it. We would love to have you along.
