| Where can I get some? You mentioned Galaxy Foam on Saturday. What exactly am I asking for there? If it makes a difference it is for swords. Thanks =D | |

| To avoid wasting the foam, I would hold off on building your own til this Saturday and I'll take the cover off my sword so you can see how its made and the methods for making it, Smithy would be your best resource for learning to make weapons IMO. | |

| Volara foam is the type you would buy from Galaxy foam, which is over by Fremont st. However, it is expensive, and I wouldn't buy that foam for your first weapons. The most common type of foam you see used is the closed cell foam found in the camping section of Walmart. This is known as Blue foam and is actually foam that is meant to be laid on for camping comfort. But you can cut this up and make quite a few types of weapons and shields.
If you don't want to wait to build, I'm free all week, if you wanna pick me up we can shop for supplies and we can build weapons:D Phoxly should come too.

| I should be open Wednesday:D Here you can google map the address: 8176 Colchester Street LV, NV 89117 and give me a call at:702-576-2915 Do you have any idea what you want to use for core? For blue weapons we can use PVC or we can Check at Lowe's for fiber glass driveway markers, but this may be a hit or miss attempt. Good fiberglass core, you have to order offline, and if you plan on making something longer than 2 1/2 feet- 3 ft you'll need to order bandshoppe poles or a good ordered fiberglass core. You cant make reds(two-handers) with PVC with lots of problems. What do you guys want to make? There are two routes for construction: DAP and DS tape. You might want to look up some tutorials and see which route you may like to go. There are some talks here on core: Core talk. Some Belegarth Build Guides. You can also find stuff on youtube and just by searching around. So this way you can get a general idea of what you want, then when we build stuff, I can just help guide. Belegarth is a similar game....that is almost literally the same that we play with also. Belegarth Foamsmithing Forum ThreadHEre is Dagorhir'sI'll see if Phoxly is free and he can join us also. Hope this helps. | |

| I'll read over these guides and call you afterwards. As for what we want to make, I am looking at 2 blue swords(possibly an axe and sword if the axes aren't much extra work) and possibly 2 shields. I have the base for the shields, have to pad it up properly. I can take a photo of it if you want to see it, or just bring it along for the shopping. As for Rayn, he is making a bow, not sure what else he wants. I'll ask him and let you know when I call, though. I appreciate the advice and your guidance in making the gear. | |

| Are these cored strap shields you making?
We can make an axe if you would like, to be honest i'm not a fan of them, and I'm not 100% sure how to make a successful one that doesn't bend and taco. They can be kind of hard to control with so much of the weight in the head, you have to really pay attention to control with them.
I'm axe biased, lol. However we can make you one, they are great for hooking shields. I don't mind doing research to get one made.
IF you wouldnt mind sending me pics, that would be cool. Bot straps and punch shields have their advantages.
Anytime:D | |

Dual axes are so much fun man especially with a small buckler strapped to your arm if you get good with blocking you'll find their sword getting caught on your axe quite a bit. I don't know my plans for Wednesday as far as going out and doing something, we'll see. I'll know by tomorrow.

| Thank you:D I enjoy the axes that are not so axe-like. The ones that look like a one sided sword that have half the blade. I imagine you can make this same thing on both sides so it looks shovel like:D The ones with the wide heads always seem unstable or do not strike straight. Some glaives are the same way. | |
