Edhellen Orders

I'm considering ordering the following from Edhellen:

$80 kite shield
$39 bastard sword
$42 long flail
--------------------------
$161 before shipping/taxes

I'm wondering if anyone else wants to jump in on an order for a discount... The more we order the bigger the discount. I would also be willing to take the time to build these things, but don't have the tools or knowledge to make them as good as Edhellen does..... comments anyone?

I would say wait till saturday and then ask everyone as a whole to better plan out some kind of package deal, you know?

You know, all you have to do is ask. I would be, and am, willing to teach, demonstrate, or oversee, anyone who would like a weapon built. In fact Surt and I are discussing when and where we could all get together for a large weapon building day.

Hey K'urn, I have been thinking a lot about the two ninja-to swords you said you can make me, ill sketch something and bring it to you saturday for an estimate. Is that ok?

I would suggest making them. I have gotten to try a bunch of weapons in just my 2 dagorhir practices and nothing feels right like my own weapons. Not to mention my swords cost around 5 dollars of material to make.

As for the shield after making my own tower shield i would be tempted to buy them. I think i did a good job but it cost around 40-50 in materials and took about 6hrs.

I would really like to research the Flail. Very long light flail would be ideal. There is a guy named Bishop who is Warlord of a group called The Legion of Dragoons. That guy has sweet armor and has a very nice looking flail. I wonder if anyone can get in contact with him on how he did it.

flails aren't hard to make. however the are CHEESY!!!!!

That's awesome Strider, I may not make it this weekend(work sucks....sometimes) however you can give it to Surt, e-mail it to me, or wait till I get out there next.

Bishop is an awesome fighter and a good friend. Flails are cheesy, and they are VERY simple to make in a multitude of styles.

Hey yeah thats cool, ill figure something out. I might need more time to think about what i want anyway. Flails are usually your best friend against a shield, lol, they are like flinging balls of doom brought against your opponent's cranium.

but they require no skill to use. i'm going to teach you to kill a shieldman with skill. that way when you do pick up a flail your double the threat.

Good, i need more skill against shieldies because they are the main thing bring me down, them and you Surt, lol. Also i need to get better at Florentine so i can wield my swords more efficiently.

anyone can ask me and i'd be more than happy to take them aside and show them how to fight with whatever weapon they want. k'urn is also much more knowledgeable than me so don't be afraid to ask him as well.

Kurn- If you can find out how Bishop made his Flail that would be awesome. I have seen him use a Beatstick or maybe it was a slim sword both seem to kick a lot of butt.

you can kick butt with any weapon with enough training. its good to look up to other fighters and aspire to be more like them but remember that its the not the armor or the weapons that make the fighter. its hard work, training, and their skill. bishops been playing for a long time now. give him a dagger and a caesar salad and i'm sure he'd do just fine.

Most flails that you see are made very similar. I'm not sure how Bishop made his, or even if he made it himself, but I can assure you if you want a flail I can show you how to make a very sturdy and very easy design. Flails are actually easier to make, and easier to use than swords. As an archer, if I was allowed, I would have a flail in my arsenal of backup weapons. (f.y.i.- most people refer to flails as 'skill on a stick') But, don't let that discourage you, flails are very effective. Especially when you already have the skill.

Hey i have actually heard of flails being called skill on a stick, lol. Yeah i think flails are the easiest melee weapon to make.

Over time our area has found the only effective shot you have with a flail is the wrap shot. There is a sweet move when using a sword to block said shot and kill the flail user every time.

That and I do not recommend using a flail until you learn how to use a sword. It will decrease you head shots and frustration over shot placement. And please do not use a flail to wrap the head. (swing down, haft hits head, ball hits back) Or you will receive a cruel bash.
