Realm Promotion

Okay the heat is cooling down so most people are losing their excuse to not come out, I think in the upcoming weeks we could potentially have some really good practices but I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one seeing our numbers dwindle. The hardcore members will always keep coming but we need to get some fresh meat on the field, and keep them there.

I was going to place an ad in the newspaper but they don't really have a place for events I noticed. Craigslist is great but you have to post back daily and no one in our target demographic really goes on the event section there anyway.

Demie has been talking about making fliers and placing them at local campuses, the renn faire is also coming up soon and could be a serious marker for getting our realm noticed.

A youtube video or a good promotional video would be great too, I can take down the one on my youtube account and we can make a better one with higher quality video. We just need the video camera part down which I may be able to do.

Anyone have some more good ideas?

I also feel like we should refine our newcomer policies, or set one in place. Such as shadowing for the first 2-3 practices and trying to make new members feel welcome in the sport, and as much fun as it may be to kick their ass when they do show up, we could just as easily win them over with comradery and sportsmanship. I know we tend to get in our little niches (Black Lions, huzzah) but involving the newer people in every aspect (even our water break conversations) they'll feel alot more welcome in the group, and probably want to stick around.

since i apear to be the newest member thus far i must admit i enjoyed my self i made quite a few friends and learned alot about this form of wepons training tho i still have much to learn im eggerly awaiting saturdays now ^.^

i've got a couple that's wanting to come now i don't know how i'm gonna get them there but they live by where me and taco used to live so if there is anyone in that area i was gonna ask konradr but i know he has his car full with his stuff i'm on a role i'm doing good!
