axes and PD

I was toying around with some ideas for axe head designs and I was wondering, am I allowed to Plastidip say, the sides of an axe head? I was thinking of doing that, then doing a cloth covered foam 'striking surface' and attaching it onto the PD's area, so you get looks, cloth on striking area, and a not pain in the arse cloth cover to sew instead of how axe heads are normally a pain in the arse

I was also considering doing this to a sword too, basically pd'ing up the central section, and having cloth to either side of it. also is PD allowed on shield coverings?

if i remember right plastidip is allowed if not on striking areas and shields are allowed to.

Yes, PD is allowed on any and all non striking surfaces. I believe they even made that official at Rag this year ...

Yes PD is allowed on all non striking surfaces now. At Rag war council this year they also amended the rules to allow fully PD'd shields.
