| Hey guys so I was looking at around at weapons just for laughs and was wondering if there is such a thing as a blue sword with a green tip? Slash and poke? | |

| Okay, I want to KNOW THE DIFFERENCE between a blue sword, and a blue sword with a green tip. It ANNOYS THE LIVING DAYLIGHT out of me when someone jabs a weapon I think can ONLY be swung and I'm caught off guard like no tomorrow. I was told none of the loaners have green tips, yet I swear the guys I were facing were using loaners and stabbing me. | |

| Green weapons you can stab with, like swords that can stab, javelins, glaives, daggers
Blue weapons you can stab with and if they have the correct type of foam on the tip of them you can also stab with it and that makes it a blue and a green

| If its a green, they should call green upon stabbing... Then there is no confusion...
It should also have green tape on the pommel (not much help in the heat of battle...) to show it is a safe stabby.

| Without armor, knowing WHEN they stab isn't very useful. And, as you pointed out, the pommel is hard to look at mid-swing. | |

| Or you can do what I do, and assume all weapons have stabbing tips and can be used to stab, that way you are always prepared for it.

| Just be honorable and take the hit. Usually the swinger will realize they don't have a green tip and tell you not to take it. Seriously, being a slougher is the worst possible thing on this field. You get a -really- bad rep, others will stop fighting you, and stop taking your hits. It is a HUGE detriment to the integrity of this game. People with honor who take their hits get a lot of respect and are better fighters because they improve rather than slough. | |

| If there is confusion, ask them if their weapon has stabbing or not. If not, resume the fight.
If so, then take the death.
Eventually, you'll kinda memorize whose weapons have stabbing. xD ~Cough~ Romeo ~Cough~
There's not very many blue/green weapons on our field.

Only a crazy Celtic/Norseman would make loaners with stabbies....... Seriously, you new guys need to get in the habit of looking at the pommel of a weapon when you first pick it up and familiarize yourself with the blue tape/green tape marking of weapons. If you make your own weapon, it has to pass the weapons check usually run by the marshall or her assistants. These weapon's must be marked with colored tape corresponding to the type of weapon it is. At event's, a weapon can be failed for simply not being marked. At practice it may or may not be failed for that, but we are practicing for the big events we all want to go and participate in. Anyone going to an event with a severe lack of knowledge of the basic rules would look very bad, reputation wise, for the Realm. All answer's should be found in a thorough reading of the Dagorhir manual of arms as posted on the National website. www.dagorhir.com. When you don't understand something as written in the MOA then you ask someone in your realm to explain it. The national website also has the national Dag forum and it is a wealth of info. People on that forum have been fighting Dag for as many as 22 years +. Konradr

| Sylar the 'loaners' at last night's practice were actually just extra gear our veterans brought out. It's always best to assume that a weapon can stab you. If we can get some consistency going again we should have blue and green tape on each pommel to indicate. Sorry for the confusion last night. | |

| I think I'm out of my color tapes again.... I know I've bought two rounds of them and marked everything at weapons check, and I think all I have left is yellow now

| So, If I was to make my weapon (most defiantly not making it yet.) And it was going to be a blue sword. I could put a green tip and it becomes both, and makes it clear? | |

| They also carry the color tape in the auto section and for some reason, its a $1 cheaper than the rolls they carry in the hardware aisle. Same shit, packaged a little different, but a dollar cheaper. go figure.
You can get Cloth hockey tape in black, blue, white, red and gold at "sports chalet" for $1.99. Big 5 carry black and white rolls of Hockey tape, slightly larger rolls, for $2.99.

| It's harder to fight someone with a green weapon, the same way it's harder to fight someone with a bigger shield (this means you, Barrikaide). So assuming they have a stabbing point right off is kind of a handicap. The javelin I saw had a HUGE yellow marker, but the swords and maces (are maces considered stabby?) all had a solid-colored cover. It was said that it was only THAT DAY that their 'loaners' didn't have tape, but not having marked tape on the pommel even on your OWN weapons causes a lot of confusion. | |

| We'll be re-marking everything Saturday.
Never be afraid to ask "Is that stabby?" when you engage.

| Will do. I'll ask everyone so much they'll never want to engage with me, out of pure annoyance! :D Nah. I'll probably end up either memorizing who uses what, or looking at pommels more. | |

Honestly when you get to be more experienced you will be able to tell whether or not a weapon has a stabby tip just by looking at it.
