I pulled out my iphone again, but this time it was by my request. I asked these two if they could pose for a few shots, so I could get a closer look at their garb. Smithy explained that his scabbard was made out of bedsheets, and his pants; couch material. I was amazed, because I looked around and I liked his garb more than the majority of others' there, and he made it cheap.

For the same cost of bedsheets you can get yourself some bottomweight for pants, and it will last you years. Linen is like $7 a yard, 2 yards and you have yourself a top. To get a high quality bedsheet that doesn't look like crud, you'll be spending atleast $15-$20 for it.
You can estimate most garb costs around $25 in materials alone. That includes top and bottom.
Looks pretty good Smithy. The trim/edgings are what made that whole tunic, looks really legit.

Not necessarily cheap.
Unless you find an old couch on the street and tear the fabric off of it, home decoration fabrics are actually really heavy duty, and also really expensive.
And bedsheets can be expensive too, depending on the type and brand.
Wal-mart's cheapest were 14 dollars. It gave me enough fabric for two sets of garb, but they're very lightweight and won't do anything for you in the coming winter months.

not always true you can find some nice and sometimes the better stuff at DI or SAVERS. most bed sheets are meant to trap heat in depending on the sheet you choose. the black lion tabards the red part all bed sheet. my dress that i have made out of bed sheet and its one of the coolest garbs to wear during the summer but keeps me warm during the winter. and it cost me yeah i think it was about 14$ like Kat said. you never know what you can find. I've found a huge thick throw on blanket that could have been easily turned into garb at SAVERS cost only 6.00 total you just gotta know where to spend!.
AND nice garb smithy looks amazing!
