As long as it's the right thickness, and is made out of leather or a legal metal I don't see why not

I think it actually out performs leather or even most metal up until modern plate armor.

I don't know about the Dag boards since I don't venture there, but in Bel, the discussion has come up that if it were done properly according to the historical methods (15-30 layers of linen, not a couple cotton t-shirts) and didn't look like absolute crap, then it would most likely be passed by heralds' discretion even though it is technically not legal armor.

Tiberius Claudius, I finally got around to the Dag boards it a long discussion that opens a whole can of worms about other armors being allowed. Anyway, it comes down to whether or not the Realm will allow it, and the heralds at events will allow it. I found several patterns and I will just make it out of leather, and the linen one for a later project. Thx for the support.
