love of weapon making.

I love making weapon's and shields, but not everything I make ends up being something I personally want to use. A good idea may not turn out how I wanted or when its done it may not suit me, too long, too heavy, whatever. That being said, I'm getting tired of lugging everything back and forth. It takes a half hour to load up the jeep in the morning.

Sooo, I will pull out the weapon's and shields I don't want to lug around and either hold a raffle or a tournament.

If a tournament, the items will be piled and we will keep track of 1st place winner, and down the line. The 1st place winner will choose one item they want, then the 2nd place will choose, etc. until everything is chosen or whatever is left, I will continue to lug. Or if that is too much, I can just have a raffle or something. I'm not seeking any money. I just want to see someone who needs a weopon have one of their own and can use and appreciate it. (and lug it to and from practice)

I will plan on this either on a practice with a good turnout of people interested or at Althing.

I like the tournament idea, but often its not the best players who are in need of weapons. Its the ones who are mediocre level. If you had a tournament the typical tournout would be the best swordsmen would win, and from what I have seen most skilled swordsmen who win tournaments already have weaopns of their own.

I like a raffle idea, but maybe have people put their name in a hat for only the item they want, so if Alacian wants a shield, she'll put her name in for the shield and give everyone a fair chance.

Could make it a limited tourney to only those who need weapons and have none of their own or who are interested in the weapons in the pile. The tourney could be run seperately from the regular practice or at althing and the experienced fighters could critique or herald. Then again a raffle might be fun too, but I never run one of those.

Or I could throw everything in a pile and say if anyone wants one of these, take it and anything left over I'll continue to bring along as realm loaners.

Maybe have a weekly raffle? Each practice you put your name in and at the end of practice you draw a name out until they are all gone? Or use them as rewards for tourneys if you have any that no one really needs/wants.

I actually like the tournament idea Konradr. Sure most of us will probably end up getting the last pics (Especially me lol) but I think that way you have that feeling of accomplishment because you earned that pick. Sure a raffle is fun, but what happens when someone ends up getting 3 weapons and some people don't end up getting any that might really need it?

Phoxly's idea is good too for rewards for tournaments. If they don't need them they can just offer their pick for 2nd place and vice versa.

i agree with the tournament only for those that don't have weapons. so that then everyone has weapons and konrade doesn't have to drag them everytime.
