Age of Chivalry, October 8-10th (Weekend-long Practice)

We will be practicing at the Ren Fair this week guys! We have our own area to fight in and everything. We will be able to fight anytime during the Fair all weekend. Our normal practice is still on but it will be at FAIR!!!!! NOT at desert breeze.

There was talk of a second practice for those who cannot afford the $10 to get in, but if you can get the group in that is good

josh and me say yes we might not be there till after 12:00 we don't have money knubbs said i didn't have to worry.

Can we as particpants bring anything in? Like coolers with water, etc, blankets, folding chairs, etc.?

Do you need my folding table? It's like 3 or 4 feet long by 1 1/2 wide.

I'm planning on dropping by Friday with most of my gear for games, etc and a few weapons and shields I don't mind leaving for someone to use but I want them in a tent overnight, not outside. Then I can just haul in my personal weapons and stuff Saturday and Sunday. Friday I can only stay a few hours.

Also I think we should keep the fighting to sparring and simple games that are eye pleasing. The games I think are most eye pleasing are:

1. Goblin head (which is our version of the LVRA's blood of heroes tournament)

2. Capture the Flag (I made two new flags just for Renn Faire, they are 48" long)

3. Bridge fighting (because it forces formed line melee's which are easy for spectators to watch and grasp)

4. Goblin horde (either on a bridge or with Kilanos walls) because it shows the maximum allowance of our game, the charge, the stand, and the shield bash, over and over and over.

For any kind of bridge, we should use the thick bright orange rope so the spectators can see that there is something there and thats why we are fighting the way we are fighting.

yeah i think those would be great i love the idea of you guys playing the goblin head if only i had a freaking camera!

First off, I have purchased a video camera from Amazon. I had it shipped overnight and fedex says it will be here today.
Second, I would like to have a few tents set up in our camp whether we plan to have them used or not. I think with fighting and the fair going on that we may have some people that decide last minute to crash at the fair and I think it would be nice if we had a place pre-setup so that could happen. Problem is we need tents. I've had a lot going on lately and haven't had a chance to find out if anyone has extra tents but if you do then please let me know so I can get them from you some time today. My goal is 3-4 tents set up. This will be 1 for Smithy and Knubbs to use as they will be camping there all weekend. 1 Tent for weapons, ice coolers, and anything else we need to store. Finally 1 or 2 for people that decide they want to camp out for a day or two. If you have tents we can use, I will see about getting them setup however it HAS to be done TODAY.

It has been posted for awhile now, but weather anyone was reading it, its hard to say since alot of people don't seem to be on the forum that much anymore, but on facebook. I believe it was announced on facebook to.

A lot of our newer prospective members don't visit the forums, maybe we should try to encourage people to get on the forums over the next few weeks. I'm sure any of them who don't visit the forums will probably be lost the next 2 weekends. Mostly new people...

We do encourage new people to get on the forums. However, we haven't had any new blood show up in awhile. Korinox has dissapeared, but he is on the forums. Faolan is well accustomed to the forums and has mentioned coming out to Renn faire. Hakari (?) introduced himself on the forum but I don't know if he's made it out to us yet.

We have posted plenty of topics on where we will be this weekend and next weekend.

Anyhow I'm going to take my stuff out to rennfaire now though I won't be able to stay. See ya all Saturday and Sunday for sure, and all day, for sure.

Okay guys here's a map to the Renn faire area. Sorry I'm so late posting. I've been busy.



You have to enter through the driveway off Sunset. between the volleyball courts and the basketball courts. The main faire parking is on the grass field to the right of the playground. The faire is around the lake behind a fence. The best place to find a parking spot is in the '2nd parking spot' which is opposite the pool parking lot. The pool parking lot is off limits and you will be towed if you try to park there. If you can't find a spot in the 2nd or 1st parking lot, you'll have to park at the main parking area. Other area's are tow away spots and have parking attendants walking around.

When you park, take your gear and hoof it to the pool building, which is next to the pool parking lot. Call Knubbs or Smithy. They will open a part of the fence connected to the pool fence. See where I marked the arrow. This part of the fence is tied but can be untied and swung open. Knubbs and/or Smithy can then escort you in.

Our campsite is to the immediate left of this spot.

Yes phoxly its orientated left is East, Right is West, Top is South, and bottom is North. Which is normal to me and coming from my side of town, seems perfectly fine. =) didn't see you there today? Hope you can make it tomorrow buddy.
