Garb build day Feb (11th - 13th)

Officially having a garb day for 3 days

Friday 11th, after 2'oclock - 10pm (10pm because that's when our sound ordnance starts)

Saturday 12th, after practice - 10pm

Sunday, 13th, after 3'oclock - 10pm

We will have 1 sewing machine here, if anyone has one they can bring that would be appreciative. This day is meant for garb tops, pants, loaner, required for ranking, etc. Me and Kitty will buy extra fabric for loaners, if you need your own garb, either pay us to get it or bring it yourselves. Don't expect to get free garb if you don't have a small payment (5 bucks is fine). If anything, a quick trip to the goodwill store is a great way to get material.

Unlike builds before this, this isn't meant to be, nor should it become a party. With War being 2 weeks away, Garb is one of the main requirements you have to have to even fight. If you aren't here to make garb or to help people, please don't come or be in the way. I hate to be blunt about this, but the past couple weapons build went from everyone being ''Hey lets do it!'' to 1 or 2 people doing all the work while everyone partied.

We won't send anyone away or deny someone to come, but if you want to party it up, this isn't the place to do it. Will gladly help people with their garb and sewing for weapon covers too should they need it.

me and josh just bought a couple shirt patterns which will be awesome! we will bring our sewing machine is is kinda a POS so if anyone does have one please bring it. count me and taco in of course!!!

I have some patterns D/edra gave me before she left. Damn, I have to remember where I put them. I have some simple patterns/tutorials that I printed off the internet too.

Updated on days that are doable along with the possibility of doing it for more then one day. I totally forgot you can buy patterns! they have a ton of Medieval ones at Joahns, so i'll look into those when we go fabric shopping.

Oooooo.... want to come! But can't this weekend! I could do Friday Feb 18 after 3pm or Friday Feb 25 after 3pm... but Friday Feb 11 is no go.

I have lots of patterns... for females my size, although I do have a few cloak/cape patterns. I need to expand into more battle garb anyways. I have a sewing machine from my grandmother, so it's really heavy and a pain to travel.(I usually can't lift and move it without highjacking a strong person.)

Maybe, in longterm thinking... have a garb build at my home in late April/early May to prep for Rag and the Combatcon?

Just an idea...




edit-note- If I do manage to get free late on the 11th, who would I need to call? How late would people be staying?

where will this be held because i am in dire need of garb. i can deffiantly bring 5 dollars if not more. really all i need is a top.
also if any one could tell me where i could look for cheap boots or shoes that fit the requirements. and when i say cheap i mean cheap.

who can help me make a big shirt. And what material do i need to buy to get it made. Maybe a long shirt sleeveless thing

Sounds to me like you want a t-tunic with out the sleeves. That's pretty simple to make I think most anyone could help you with the first one:D I'd suggest a sturdy linen. That way it will last for a while, but not get too hot.

i'm super excited!!

I have alot of fabrics that I need to get rid of. I also have a basic pattern for a tunic. The catch is that someone will have to come get it from me as my work schedule is from 1100 to whenever the work is done. Kinda narrow time window but this is fabric for a dollar/yard. And threads.

i'll talk to taco about it cause that a really nice deal!

Sweet smithy, cause I really need some new garb pants and money is tight. I know I would appreciate it and we have a ton of new people I know need garb as well this will go a far way toward getting our realm looking great

Yes, I have been caught unexpectadly short as well, and have had to borrow a little money. Garb day is actually garb weekend Smithy, are you working the entire weekend or will you be bringing some of your extra cloth, etc, for sale at practice or is it drill weekend for you?

I can't show up to garb day as I have drill. I'll be working feverishly throughout the next week though.

don't kill yourself smithy... if you need anything any help whatever let me know. would love to help ya out.. take a break now in then if anything call taco during the week i'm sure he would love to hang and help out.
