Loaner Gear

I'm not trying to beat the dead horse here, but we really need to get some loaners set up, and designated as loaners. These should be sturdy swords, puzzlemat boxed, whatever it takes so that they aren't breaking down. Last few practices it has been a scramble to get swords on the field, everyone's loaning their personal swords, and those are just getting demolished. I brought 2 personal + 1 loaner swords out to last practice and am now down to just 1 personal sword.

Do we need to start a fund for loaner building? I know we recently had Combat Con, but if that event does bring people out to our group, we want gear on the field they can use.

Smithy - I see from the combatcon pics you still have the weapon rack, maybe we can set this up as the station to get loaners from when people want to fight.

I will be getting foam in this next week to make blade sword fry, which are basically a kit you fold over the core and glue it down. It works out great and is easy to do. I'll be selling this for around $6 each, core not provided. If you need a personal weapon this is the best and easiest way to go.

We have some of the loaner weapons we used for Combat Con, and some of our own loaners as well, and will be bringing them to practice this week. Convel does work on Saturday, but we will be out right after we gets off work. We have about 5-6 loaner swords, but no shields. This should help.

From the sounds of it, today we do not have enough loaners for all the newbies to fight.

We did once I showed up, and Convel and Izzy showed and Taco brought some extra's too. and Anthony brought the green loaner bag of weapons that Smithy usually brings.

Awesome. I'll be bringing out the loaner shields next week, and if any newbies are interested in getting their own shield, the loaners are for sale at a discount. We are considering getting replacement loaners with a heavier + sturdier foam like the blue 4# foam.
