| If you are Royal Army, you will have to provide yourself with a Royal Army Tabard. No ifs, ands, or buts( said but, not butt's, quit your giggling). Here are three designs depending on your skill level or the skill level of whom you can con....er, ask to make your tabard. I encourage you to try to do it yourself. For my practice attempt I used khaki broadcloth from 'Joannes'. It was $2.99 a yard. I bought 2 yards at 44 inches wide. I can make two tabards that are 22 inches wide. However, I am thinking of getting a heavier, sturdier cloth, maybe a cotton duct. This is about $4 to $5 a yard. Usually it comes in 60 inch width, so I would only need 1 yard and double it over to make a Tabard. I have a cardboard pattern that I made for the star. At weapon's build, You guys can copy it onto paper or something and then have your own pattern. I used Walmart red cotton/poly cloth ($1.97 a yard) but this is too flimsy for the star, it bunches up if you hand sew it on. So I will save that for the Trim (Trim is the what you sew on your edges to keep them from fraying, and around the collar area. Most people just fold the edges over about a half inch and sew them shut) I'm going to buy either red canvas or red felt for my next star. Those would be stiffer, but I think the canvas would go through the washing machine better than the felt??? The rectangle is the easiest pattern, with no trim, only the star. For the scalloped version, Smithy can provide you with a pattern. Let's do this by Fool's Raid so the Royal Army will stand out as one block of Khaki clad, star chested Iron Warriors! Konradr | |

| Updates to the Tabard.
Me and Smithy were deciding on the requirements of the Tabard.
The Barad'Dun star is red and must be the same pattern for all. The star can be sewn cloth, a felt patch or painted, but you must all use the same template that was given out at the weapon's build.
SCRATCH ALL I SAID ABOUT THE TABARDS. I MISUNDERSTOOD WHAT SMITHY WAS SAYING. HE WILL BE AT GARB BUILD TO GIVE DIRECTIONS. THE TABARD FOR ALL RANKS BELOW ADUNABAR WILL HAVE THE STAR ON THE RIGHT UPPER CHEST. ADUNABAR AND ABOVE THE STAR WILL BE ON THE LEFT UPPER CHEST. RED TRIM IS ALLOWABLE TO ALL AND IS ENCOURAGED TO MAKE YOUR TABARD STAND OUT.
ADUNABAR'S must have a rectangular Khaki Tabard with the Barad'Dun star now on the LEFT upper chest area. All hem's are red.
REALM SCRIBE may place the symbol of a quill within the center of the Barad'Dun star at his own discretion.
OFFICER'S must have a khaki Tabard with a scalloped bottom. The Barad'Dun star is on the LEFT upper chest. All hem's must be red. Officer's may place, at their discretion, the symbol of their office within the center of the Barad'Dun star. White tree for Adunakhor, Tower for Shepherd, Sword for the Marshall.
Pictures to follow when I have a chance.

| Just for the record, the Walmarts that still sell fabric have pre-made hemming for blankets in red.
They're meant for quilting, to keep the edges from fraying, but they'd do nicely for a tabard.
Saves time from cutting red fabric into strips. | |

| Demie you are a lifesaver. I'd grab those red hems even if you don't need them now, sounds like a great deal.
I have that new sewing machine, Yep, its sitting there intimidating me. Make it stop!
I bought a dark khaki canvas duct for my tabard, but I still have my two lighter broadcloth one's as well. I also bought the felt that has the glue on one side. I'm going to try that on one of the broadcloth tabards.
If you guys don't have time to hem your Tabards, just make it with the star for now. Remember, for everyone under the rank of Adunabar, the star is now on the right side.
