This Saturdays practice (march 27) will be at DAVIS PARK

Pass the word along to any and all, we are evaluating Davis park this Saturday. Practice will be held there. It is a really nice grace field. Here are two maps to the new location.



From Desert Breeze



Whoever can get there early try and grab Gazeebo 'B' on the map. That would be the one on the Tara/Sorrel side of the park.

Also can our two "Shuttle" volunteers from last week, volunteer to shuttle people from Desert Breeze area (maybe the Taco Bell since the park will be full with extreme thing going on)to the new park again this week???

The king will need a ride as well.

My jeep is full, I have to drop my daughter and two of her friends off at Desert Breeze for that extreme thing.

I think you guys will love this field and if so, we will host fool's raid here. Otherwise, the only real option is to stay at DB and work out whatever issues with parking or space, arise.

Looks like a decent park! I will be there early with Alacian (I'm sure I'll be giving her a ride.) If anyone needs rides let me know and I'll see what I can do.

What complications did we anticipiate with hosting Fool's Raid at Desert Breeze park? If we could snag that huge area (the one that dips into the ground) that'd be so cool!

Easter weekend, Sports leagues. (soccer, Softball, etc) Usually big in the spring and the park is usually full of them. (I believe they pay to researve the fields)

Hmmm yeah that would be a complication. Too bad we can't reserve a park or something like that. I wouldn't mind a small fee for it either. I think this park is gonna work out Konradr.

Davis Park is North East of Desert Breeze on google maps. The park your directions start from is Rainbow Park it seems.

I'll be able to shuttle people from Desert to Davis park, but I won't be giving rides from people's houses to the park cause ic an't promise a ride back to their house.

I'm not a fan of parallel parking... 7 miles from the bus depot... 9 from the airport...

I looked at the park on street view, looks about the size of the Twin Falls city park, which is plenty big enough, but I worry about 50+ people needing to park.

there will be 4 sides to the park, each side being 500 feet worth of space and if each car takes up 15 feet, you will have room for 133+ cars.

damn you are handy Morlock. Why don't you just stay in Vegas after this whole sha-bang is over.

Are there going to be 50 cars? Each person going to drive a car? Usually we come in about 4 or 5 and the other realms might be the same. Plenty of parking.

Which side of Torrey pines? Look at the map. Where is Rainbow? So if the park is between Rainbow and Torrey pines, which side of torrey pines is it??? I don't live on that side of town, but I can read a map.

Yes, I forgot to put the North South, West and East on the map, Since I drive for a living , I know which directions the roads run. I know going towards the strip from Desert Breeze park is East (because the sun rises above sunrise moutain and the lake), and going towards Desert Breeze park is West, (that's why its called the 'West' side of town and I live on the 'East') And going to Salt lake city is North, and going to L.A. is South. Duh! But I will make a better map for our out of town guests and put the direction star on it. You locals will just have to figure it out.

Now, we WILL evaluate this park this Saturday and then discuss it after the fightin'. We will take your opinion's into account but the final say will be with Surt, Smithy and myself.

After reading one of Morlock's posts (Thank you for posting such useful info Morlock) I realized something. I've been at this park twice and despite its size, I don't remember seeing a public toilet.

Since I don't live in the area, can someone who does give me a recconnaisance and tell me what fast food joints, convenience stores and/or drug stores are located on the major intersections of Rainbow and Desert Inn, Torrey Pines and Desert Inn, Sahara and Rainbow, and Torrey Pines and Sahara.

Also, correct me if I am wrong, but isn't the nearest Walmart (along with Sam's club and Alyssa's .99 cent store) on the corner of Spring mountain and Buffalo??? These are things our visitors will find useful and ourselves if we need to go eat or go Pee (or #2!).

That Walmart is on Spring Mountain between Buffalo and Rainbow. You can reach it from both sides. There's also a Target across the street from it. =o

Thx Demie. Any idea on fast food joints at those interesections? or Walgreens, CVC's with nice toilets???

It's pretty far from the actual park on foot, but within that Walmart shopping center is a Krispy Kreme, Panda Express...

Across the street from that is a Burger King. =o Koreatown is right there.

Yeah....

Close to that park is mainly residential and offices.
