| Well, since I'm poor I'm going to be using blue camping mat foam. But blue camping mat foam isn't wide enough to make a good sized shield, nor long enough with the width without using two pieces together.
So if I was making a heater should I just cut out two halves of the shape vertically and glue/tape them together? Then do the same thing like 4 times to get the right shield thickness?
I don't know if it will work. | |

| I was thinking of making a 3 foot round shield with blue camp mat DAPed or DTS(Double Sided Taped) But as you said, Camp mat is only like 20" or 22" wide (somewhere in there) What I was thinking was cutting half moon shapes, about 1 1/2 feet wide. Then glueing/taping, in the center and layering them crosswise so the split is not the same in each layer. You need to have about 5 layers for a good solid core. Then an edge strip to help hold it together. I want to make mine a strapped coreless shield. I just haven't gotten around to it.
You can use some plastic or even cardboard in the center to give it some stiffness if you want, as a base layer or something.
If you're going to have a plywood core, you can cut the mat in sections, glue them on, duct tape (or strapping tape) over the join's and then layer the next layer on so that its joined parts are not in the same spot as the one's below it (Is that clear or confusing?) then you only need 3 layers of blue mat over a core.

| Should we have another build day? Some people got some nice materials recently. It's just down to the when and where. Oh yes and GARB too. | |

| Before they leave for Rag would be good. My vacation is June 5th through the 13th and as luck would have it, we are stuck at home, only planning on maybe a camping trip the 11th or 12th.

| Yeah, just think of it like Surt's heater, except I might make it a bit longer. | |

| If it helps...you've used my shield. It's blue camping foam and cardboard. Shouldn't be that hard. | |
