Chaos Wars XIV

Alright i know some people mentioned Chaos Wars XIV and was wanting to go. all in favor of going say aye!

Chaos wars would be better for me cause it's closer.
also if you wanna go should we take the trailer again. going to yestare wasa experiment and all in all i think it worked really well it in the end cost alot of money i think it was almost 700$ there and back but i think what made it unfair was not everyone payed gas money and i think we priced the gas money to low. everyone should have brought more so now that we have PLENTY of time to work this out what do you guys think?. if we were to make it to chaos wars would you wanna go the whole week or half should we take the trailer or not. if not what is the plan. it says on Google maps that it would take about9 to 10 hours to get there that's about 100 - 200 dollars more than we need to take the trailer. so let me know what you guys think i'm totally in for it and if i get this job i have no problem putting a couple pay checks into it. let me know guys i'm interested but i don't wanna leave anyone behinde

Chaos Wars Schedual

It'd probably take 8-9 hours with the Trailer to hit Twin Falls (Shannara, whom is hosting the event in Hailey, 30 min from Twin) and I wouldn't mind taking my own vehicle there or chipping in for Gasoline. I'm not sure the entree fee to get into the event for the week.

I don't want to break people on gasoline and make them pay 70-100 for gas as thats just crazy, and I am already saving up in advance for the event to make up the difference.

There probably won't be any freebies though.

We are pretty good about eating cheap on the road, even if it means 10 trays of rice balls lol. I do apreciate the gesture of covering some of our costs, and that would be greatly apreciated but we won't bank on that yet and after I buy my car I'll probably put half of one paycheck aside specifically for Chaos ($400 atleast to help Taco and Kitty out)

Taco and her probably will only be staying half the week, so those who don't want to stay the full week can go back with them, or stay and hitch a ride on the last day with whoevers still there (:

like i said it all depends we have so many things that we are planning on going to right after chaos wars is anime Vegas that i would also like to make too and then after that is sam hein which i will do whatever i can to make it cause that's my home. and it's up to if we have a car i don't know if Dan will let us take the trailer again we might be able to ask him again but i don't think he can re insure it after we told him we only needed it for a week. and i don't blame him second thing is that without that trailer we are relying on everyone else for rides which is fine but i would much rather drive my own car or have taco drive i feel unsafe with him driving as it is the last thing i need is making someone else freak out cause i don't like people's driving. but our chances of us taking Alena car is slim cause Alena is trying to sell her car and Dan probably doesn't want us using it. so we are stumped on what to do i want to go to chaos all i hear is how amazing it is but it's all up to what's gonna happen which is why i made this forum so we could fill in any holes before i became too late.

as for the money thing i think that's really sweet of you guys to go out of the way for us. and we really appreciate it but i wanna talk to alacian about some things cause i'm a little confused myself on the situation with money.. so you get back to us and we'll get back to you.

like i said i wanna make it and will do what i can but it's shit everywhere right now and yestare pretty much dried a lot of us dry me included so if i get this job i have no problem helping us get up there but if i get this job i'm also not asking for a full week off. so we'll see what happens but to continue on i would like to hear peoples idea on what we should do. i thought maybe renting a huge utility van but that is expensive as well i don't know what to do.

Karion, thank you for the offer you put forward. It was very well appreciated, but our numbers who want to go to Rag and Chaos have dwindled do to economic hard times. Hopefully next year will be better.

You can go to events very, very cheaply.
I do it all the time.
Here's my list of ideas.
1) make sure you have to pay. Many events do not charge people who drive over a certain disatance to get there. Not everyone takes advantage of this, but if your broke, it can make all the difference. ASK THEM.
2)eat cheap. Ramen and Pancakes. A guy can eat for less than $1.00 a day.
3)Don't be a drunk. Liquor is expensive. Don't spend your money stupidly and don't give away the booze you do buy.
4)Carpool in low gas mileage cars. This means you take less gear, but it is summer and you don't need much, it ain't like it's fucking cold out.. It really only needs to cost like $60 in gas for 4 people.
5) Buy you bug spray and sunblock,ect. now, a little at a time. Shop for all this stuff like a miser and take care of it. Events of any kind are cheaper if you don't need to buy EVERYTHING everytime you go.
6) if you allow freeloaders, MAKE THEM WORK. Everyone feels better later is nobody takes advantage of anyone else, like dating.
Please come to chaos. It will change everything you think about fighting.

yeah hopfully things will look up for the better for us you know taco wants to go and he's pushing like crazy to see what we can do i'll offer to him this list and it makes me think twice. and i really want to go so yeah we will do our best to get there!

I couldn't take a week off from work, I've used up all my time off. I don't know if just going for a two night stay and only fighting on Saturday (like Yestare) would be worth it.

If others are interested in going, band together and try to make it a few days longer than that.

A car with good gas mileage would be neccessary too, and space. Depending on how many people wanted to go, could look into some kind of rental if not enough vehicles.

Also if you are into scenery, Chaos Wars week would be a really good time to stop and see the shoshone falls and the snake river canyon that we'll likely cross on the way to Hailey

I'm interested, Taco and Kitty too, but with new jobs and stuff I'll need ot make sure I can get it off.

We'll try to make a date for it next year, as a realm. No sweat guys, this year is a bust for the big events. We'll make our own trips to local neighbors.

My boss may be taking a week or so off during the end of July to mid August slow time, and she said I can probably have a few days off toward the end of July (chaos week). I'll also have a car by then.

Konradr and anyone else thinking about going for a shorter trip to Chaos, I will be going up Thursday night, only taking Friday off. I don't know yet how many of my people will make it and when they will be going yet, but we'll try to work out a space for anyone who can make it to St. George Thursday.

There may be a couple extra seats going from SLC/Ogden. There are 2 vans and a trailer leaving on Monday(I think) and a couple cars.
If you can get here, we can get you the rest of the way, but it's on our schedual, so be flexible.

Gah FB D: The only thing holding everyone back is the transportation shit. For Yestare we had the BAMF Camper, but this time around I don't think its going to happen, no one has gas to chip in for it. (Except me.) Everyone literally put all their eggs in one basket/event and that was Yestare. .____. Even though I missed it. -rage-

yeah the thing was that dan didn't wanna register the damn trailer fully he just wanted to get temp tags and for how long it took him to get everything situated it wasn't until the day we left! on how much gas that fucker took pardon my language but that's exactly how i feel about it!. i don't think dan is going to let us use the trailer again unless we pay for the entire thing which in dans fantastic mind is more than what he payed for it. so it's not even worth it. i was hoping to get that job at Kmart and rent a big ass van. that didn't happen so we have limited transportation we have like what a grand total of 25 - 30 people and only like 1/3'd of them have cars and only 1/3d of them have money for gas for those cars i feel so bad not making it to chaos for so long it's one of josh's favorite events ever since we moved on our own josh hasn't been to one and he hates it. but it will happen! we are pushing for next year because of our circumstances but i am definitely going to do everything i can to make it to samhain
