| Isk will be picking up some 30" round foam cores during a trip to Salt Lake City. This is the same core material that was given to us as a gift during WOR I by Loptr who came down from Salt Lake City for the event (My round, the small buckler and Surt's heater) He's gotten the price down to $10 if he can order 10 total. I've already pledged him $10. Here is the topic on their forum for anyone interested. http://antirdearg.com/forum/wicked-awesome-shield-cores#newPertinant info: - Quote :
- Wicked Awesome Shield Cores
At Christmas time I will be up North and will be picking some supplies up from Fitz. If anyone wants an awesome durable shield core, let me know and I will have him make you one for me to bring back. These are solid, stiff foam cores that will last a very long time and are really the peak of high-performance shield making in our game. They are also much less work than other cores and about the same price ($35-40 for ~28" round). Strapping and a single layer of blue foam (not everyone even bothers with this step) around the edge is normally adequate to produce a finished shield.
It's getin' better and better. Fitz says if I pick up 10 he'll only charge me $10 per 30" core. These are awesome shield cores, people. I will get 10 of them this Saturday and everyone who gives me $10 for one before Saturday gets it for $10, after that I'll bump the price to $15 or $20 because I really don't want these around and driving with them will be a pain.
You got it, Konradr, address PMed. If anyone else down there wants one of these, this is the same dense, gray-black, 2.5" thick foam as the shield you picked up for Surt at WoR. It's good stuff. Konradr

| Just to be really clear, I am getting ten of these and I intend to keep 2-3. I still have 3 or 4 available if any of you want one. Let me know before I go an you'll get it for the $10 after that I'm raising the price to $15 or $20 just as an incentive to get them now so I'm not stuck with a bunch of them. | |

| lol. I thought the same thing when Konradr said he was interested Smithy. This foam is a little denser and a little thicker than the white stuff you showed me Saturday. I'm sure you've seen the shields Konradr mentioned. Can you get this stuff down there as well and how does it compare price-wise (so everyone can make an informed decision)?
I don't mind hooking you guys up with these at all, but if you can get them sooner, cheaper locally you probably want to go that route.

How much for a 30" round through your source Smithy? So far, Strider, Me and Templar have $10 to throw in. $10 just sounds like a good price for a precut piece of solid foam.

| Nevermind. The thickness of the foam I have is only 2". I can get a 4'x8' sheet for around $75. I think thats for 4lb polyplank though. Isk has the better deal. | |
