Archery and arrows

Who also know how to make fletchings and where to find festhers for them????

Hirgon I wouldn't worry about wooden arrows, or cool fletchings as much. You can draw/paint elven designs on the head of the arrow. With wooden shafts you have to cover the entire thing in tape, so no one gets to see the wood.

Each arrow + shaft costs around $8 a piece. I can give you directions and places to shop for the foam.


You'll want to go to galaxy foam and ask them for a 3" by 2" thick cylinder of H90 foam. This is the head of the arrow, your main striking surface.

You'll want a 2" diameter drill bit to cut cylinders for the base of the arrow. You can also get some from Smithy, he has them premade.

That's the basic design. Arrows are REALLY hard to make, and often your first arrows won't turn out the best unless you take good care and patience to make it even/straight through and through.

Hirgon, you may also want to look at getting bare shafts, as opposed to made to order shafts. It will save you some money and make you more fond of your arrows. You will need to purchase fletchings and nocks, and I would recommend a fletching tool.

Basically when buying bare shafts, all you get is the shaft and the inserts. However, this allows you to customize your arrows. You could even cut the fletchings to match those on the elven arrows.
