Fools raid 2010

Smithy, this last year at Rag they added a rule about the size of the closed cell base for both arrows and javs since it has been shown to be the most important factor in safely absorbing the shock of the projectile's impact. At the coming Rag, arrows will be required to have a base of at least 2" (all passing arrows should already have met this criteria, but someone felt the need to codify it) and the heads must meet the existing no more than 1/2" through a 2.5" hole rule. The javelins also had the base size requirement added, but the overall size of a jav was increased to 3.5", so the the base must be 3". Bel still only requires the jav to pass the 2.5" test so we would have to make javs specifically to play by dag rules, which we may do, but that's why we'd like to know in advance.

Personally, I think a better way to improve javelin safety would be to lower the maximum weight and some dag folks have indicatated they may pursue exchanging this new rule for a max weight decrease, but we'll see.

I think tomorrow we need to make a forum anouncement (as in one that will be posted above all the other forums) about Fool's Raid, where its going to be, maybe a short story behind the Fool's Raid, and kind of offer a way for people to get information about it. Cause a small thread instide the Chapter News --> Events & Trips isn't getting the attention of people who need information.

This anouncement thread could also serve as a guest check in so we get a basic idea of the people hwo are coming and how many there will be.

Good suggestion. Also, add some of the useful info that is scattered around these different forums.

Like a one stop shop for all fool's raid info. Like what Bel did with Chaos wars.

Well Knubbs made a post, but its still discretely hidden inside the chapter news and then events and trips section, but it doesn't have any information yet. I think konrad said he'd do it, but he's a mod so he can probably just edit Knubb's post as we figure more out this weekend.

Also why isn't our scribe a mod o.0 he should be able to post anouncements like in a normal forum. They'd usually appear above the whole forum in a lil recent anouncements box. >__>

Yes, I've done that. Barrikaide actually posted a thread on Fool's raid on the Dagorhir forum, so I posted to that. There was also a thread on the Belegarth Forum, so I posted to that. Now I remember I have to email Tolga, I'm off to do that.

My sister told me to post up here that if people don't want to spend the money on a hotel room that she said 20 bucks and you can crash on one of are 3 couches and the two beds we can put in the front room. for those who want to save a little money.

There's also still a little room in our backyard camp site. We're asking for a 5 dollar donation.

So when does the Fools Raid actually start... Some said 12... others said weapon check in starts at 10..

I will be there by 10 am for some warm up sparing.
