The Battle of Amon Hen! July 15-18 Mogollon rim AZ

Fugl Brenna is hosting a camping event in July! Four days filled with Camping, Field Battles, Tournaments, and woods battles! The finale will be the battle of Amon Hen, in which the winners of the tournaments will play the fellowship of the ring as they battle the hordes of orcs (everyone else) in a massive knight vs peasant style battle!

When: July 15-18 Weapons check starts at noon on the 15th

Where: Mogollon Rim AZ between Payson and Heber

Elevation is 6000 feet so temperature shouldn't be a problem. (Highs in the 80s)
It is primitive camping so plan accordingly. (bring water etc.)

There is a general store 3.5 miles away from the site.

Schedule:
Thursday - set up: weapons check: field battles

Friday- field battles - tournaments

Saturday- Woods battles - Battle of Amon Hen

Sunday- pickup battles - pack up and leave

This sounds good guys. I can not go Thursday or Friday, I've used up my allotment of time off. However, if the wife is cool with it, Maybe I can plan on leaving Early Saturday to arrive in time to set up a camp and fight Saturday and Sunday.

Anyone interested if its doable?

Close to 400 miles. A 7 hour ride. If we left at say 4 in the morning we could be there by 10am.

Sounds doable, a little over a month in advance to get things ready.

If we are going to do this, we need to plan accordingly and be prepared for unexpected surprises

yeah sounds like fun i'll see whats going on i have 2 interviews next week instead of 1 so i'm hoping to bag one of those jobs

I won't be able to get time off til the last week of July through Mid August, which I intend to take 4-5 days off for Chaos...

Seeing how I live close to the sight, I will be on hand for any last minute needs for those traveling here.

There is a Walmart and Hospital in Payson.

For those coming via I-17 & 89, you will want the second camp verde exit, as the first you would have to deal with casino traffic. The drive is VERY scenic. If you want scrub desert to riparian wetlands to high desert to pine forest and then all over the place, you will love the drive.

What way would you be going? Up I-15 through St. George and down the Grand Canyon way, or South east from another freeway straight out of Vegas?

We may have a body or two interested in taking an open seat, if you have any, but they would need to know if you were travelling through our area or they would have to meet you in Vegas.

I forgot to talk about it at practice, but anyone planning on going let me know. Morlock called and I will give you his phone number, he wanted to touch base with anyone going as to some new changes, or something.

Great Job having an event so close to chaos that no one other than local will come to it. Also, thank you for consuming the resourses of those who did come, making sure they would not be alble to make chaos.

I don't think anyone made it to Amon Hen from Barad'Dun, and its 1/4th the distance of Chaos. I was really planning on having a car by now and being able to take a road trip but things just haven't panned out like I hoped. Sorry FB.
