Here's a sparring video of "Tir Ashleen". The main character is peter the quick. There are two interesting parts. From about 14:20 on is sparring between peter the quick and a dude with a flail. Its good watching if you're interested in fighting with a flail or against a flail.

Also note: Peter uses a round strap shield, and in his shield hand he holds a second sword downward. At some points in this video he actually jabs at people's legs with this sword so I'm sure it has a stabby tip. You can block low blows with this sword like it was an extension of you shield plus stab at people's legs.
