Let's gather all the information from older posts on the forum that explained in detail and with graphics on how to make Dagorhir legal weapons and shields. We'll start off with a couple of links to The Dagorhir Rule page on the National website. Please read all the rules governing weapon and shield construction before attempting your own:
Now that you understand the basics of what is required for Dagorhir weapons and shields, you can check out the construction pages on the Dagorhir website, and the Dagorhir Forum. You can also check out the Belegarth construction page and topics in their forum. Some belegarth rules won't apply but the basic techniques will. So just adjust for the Dag rules after reading the rules.

Let's start the videos:
This video is good for showing you how to make a sword though this is not a Dag or Bel video so make sure you use Cloth tape instead of duct tape, and make sure the weight and dimension's are dag legal. You should have already read the rules on the very first link I posted.

NOTE: Birch plywood is more expensive but it is lighter and stronger than normal plywood. Recommended is 5 ply 'Tech' grade or something like that.

If using PVC for your first weapon or two. Don't use white PVC if you can afford not too.

I would not recommend EVER using white pvc. It's just not as strong as the gray. If you look at the inside diameter of them both you'll see the gray is actually thicker than the white.
The gray one he is referring too is schedule 80. You can find up to 48" in this PVC at both home depot and lowes. Look in the 'sprinkler' section for the threaded pipe. That is schedule 80, not the light gray in the electrical section. Light gray and white gray are schedule 40. However, I made my first weapons out of white schedule 40 and they lasted awhile.
PVC however will flex more when left out in the heat and will eventually break. Don't cry over it.
You can also bend PVC by holding it over some heat source (I use the stove) and while wearing gloves, gently pull it into the shape you want. I usually then run it under tap water to cool and harden it.
Don't use PVC for weapons greater than 36" they will flex way too much and get failed.

Driveway marker's from Lowes are the cheap and easy way to get fiberglass cores. They are a bright orange and sell at lowes for $1.97 in 48" lengths. You need to double core them, that is, glue and tape one on top of another, to make a good core. If you can only afford one driveway marker you can cut it in half and make a 24" sword.
the Driveway markers at Lowes are in the nuts and bolt aisles back by the "For Sale" signs and mail boxes.

I used two driveway markers, duct taped the ends, put some plumber's sealant along the creases, and then taped them in a spiral all the way down.
Caretaker's graphic on making a sword from two driveway markers:
You don't want to use the double core for weapons longer than 36". However, you can glue a third core inside the other two, making a rounder type core which will make a stiffer core for longer weapons or for maces, axes, etc.
Home depot has a new fiberglass rod for sale in the tool aisle. It's a 'Construction caution marker' its thicker than driveway markers, maybe 3/8. 3/8" core is the very basic for making blue weapons. So you would only need one. They come in Lime green color, are 48" and sell for $3.

The best glue for gluing cores is, in the words of the Shepard:

I found these tutorials for when I was looking on how to build a glaive, but these are also for other weapons besides glaives.
